“IF TIME IS MONEY, THEN LIFE IS A BANK ACCOUNT…”

Recently ICICI Bank launched its new advertisement casting Konkona Sen Sharma. The video shows very basic things like a piggy bank which of course we have used and still do. Piggy bank is used to save our money for future use; same idea has been talked in the video too.

But, the main reason why the video is trending all over is not because of the piggy bank or Konkona herself but because of the content which clearly focuses on the social order in which we all live. We live in a society where a man has a free space where he can do whatever he wants and he can also fulfil his dreams but for a woman it’s really hard, isn’t it? Think about it, a woman has to live according to others like first according to her parents and afterwards according to her husband and in-laws.

The video shows if we have a limited number of years with us then how these years shape our future differently and how men and women are separated. A man has to have Education followed by Higher Education, MBA, Foreign permits, 9-5 job, hobbies, workouts etc but what about a woman? oh! Obviously she has to have basic education qualification so as to be married, then household works, children, seeing after the elders etc etc… actually the list is never ending for a woman.

The question asked is, WHY SHOULD OUR LIVES BE DEFINED BY THE ROLES WE LEAD? WHAT ABOUT THE DREAMS AND THE PASSION?

A woman is always seen as a sacrificing image and she always has to let go of her dreams and passions.

So, everyone has very much talked about this separation but at the end we all have the same thinking pattern. Because, our society is formed like that only and we all are mostly forced to live just to please the society.

Have we ever noticed that, many ladies out there are really talented and have some extremely god gifted abilities which are almost left unseen. Just because they don’t get the opportunity or they are just left unexplored.

It’s time we make a change… by making a little time for ourselves and for our dreams.

Konkona who was lastly seen is the women centric film Lipstick under my burkha has thrashed the dominating and patriarchal social norms and has inspired many.

The video has focused on the same order in which we live our lives on the basis of time and money.

ICICI bank have really made many women inspire with this new advertisement and have made a very strong and powerful point by saying the women to find time for yourself and to value you existence.
